A message from our Head of School...

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the best year you have ever had at St. George’s Episcopal School! I hope you use these Web pages to explore and learn more about our independent, co-ed, pre-K through eighth grade. While the photos and information on the site will give you a sense of the environment, visiting our campus is the best way to truly capture the spirit of St. George’s. When I first walked through the front door of St. George’s, I felt at home. I was struck by how welcoming the students were and by the strong connection between the students and teachers. I knew then that it was not only a place where I wanted to work, but also a place where I wanted to raise my children.

Has it ever occurred to you that going back to school is an adventure? It is! The new school year brings with it the chance to open your minds, work on your friendships and make a start on changing the world. We are blessed at St. George’s to share our days with students who are eager to learn and actively participate in their education. We have a faculty and staff who are committed to educating children not only academically, but emotionally, socially and spiritually as well. We are surrounded by families and a dedicated Board of Trustees who are committed to helping us achieve our goals, and never let us forget that together our job is to encourage children to become everything God intends for them to be. Education is important, but we pray daily that we never lose sight of the big picture…that children should grow up experiencing God’s grace which will in turn, allow them to become an asset to their society.

As we start a new year together, I want to welcome our new students! I hope that you will be happy here at SGES and I know that the returning students and teachers will help you in any way they can. To our returning students…welcome back! The campus comes alive the minute you arrive and I love seeing your bright, smiling faces each and every morning at carpool. If I can leave you with one thought I am asking that you try something new this year. Try for an election to the student council, join the basketball team, or volunteer to assist your teacher or fellow students in class. Whatever it is…try something new! You never know, you might find you have a hidden talent. The school year is a cycle: Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success. I hope that this year will be a successful and educational one for us all!

If you are intrigued by what you read or see, spend a day with us and experience St. George’s Episcopal School. If you are like my family and me…you will want to stay!

Warm Regards,

Donna S. Mallett
