FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Below are some of the questions we often hear while prospective parents and students are considering school options. We hope that if you have a specific question you will call us at (770) 358-9432 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Where is the admission office? The admissions office is located in the main office on campus. Signs directing visitors to the main office are easily visible from the front walkway. May we come on Campus and take a tour? Absolutely! We love to have visitors on campus and full campus tours can be arranged by appointment. We encourage prospective families to visit us on Fridays for Celebration Chapel. This is a special chapel service when the entire student body comes together to celebrate events of the week and share exciting school news and announcements. Campus visits can be scheduled through the admissions office. Visitors are asked to sign-in at the main office when they arrive on campus. Are parents welcome on campus? Yes – We love our St. George’s families and parent involvement is a vital part of our school community. The St. George’s Parents Association is an active organization which helps St. George’s host a number of school activities throughout the year. Parents also volunteer in a number of ways including organizing class parties for special occasions, assisting with the book fair, helping with our annual fundraiser – The Get-Away-Gig, attending class field trips, helping with field day, and many other activities. Do you accept new students in the middle of the year? As long as space is available in a given grade, students can be considered for enrollment in the middle of a school year. The decision for admission is made for each student on a case-by-case basis. Can my child shadow a current student? We are glad to offer shadow visit for prospective students. For children applying to the Lower School, the best time to see the school is during their observation. For Middle and Upper School applicants, a shadow visit is a great way for students to get to know St. George’s. We will match your child with a current St. George’s student and he/she will spend half a school day going to class, meeting new friends, and experiencing St. George’s engaging learning environment.
Is Financial Aid available?
Yes – St. George’s understands that some families require financial aid in order to choose an independent school education for their children. We have a commitment to providing financial aid to students based on family-demonstrated need as determined by Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST). Financial aid is limited and must be applied for as early as possible.
Where are St. George’s alumni accepted to college?
We are always impressed with the exciting things our students go on to do including being accepted to a wide range of higher learning institutions. The list from recent alums includes schools like: University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Duke University, Wake Forest University, University of Alabama, Auburn University, University of the South - Sewanee, Presbyterian College, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State University, Berry College, Furman University, and University of Mississippi.
