About GOAL

In 2008, the Georgia General Assembly passed into law House Bill 1133 which allows individuals and corporations to choose to redirect a portion of their Georgia state income tax dollars for need based financial aid. The law provides for the creation of Student Scholarship Organizations (SSOs) to which Georgia individual and corporate taxpayers can contribute in exchange for a state income tax credit

These are tax dollars that you are already paying to the state. This tax credit allows you to take up to $2,500 of your Georgia state income tax, and gives you a dollar for dollar income tax credit against your Georgia state income tax liability.

How Can I Participate?

Anyone who pays Georgia income tax is eligible to participate.

To contribute to Georgia GOAL, use this link to go to the Georgia GOAL website. Corporate gift matching is also available with this tax credit.

Any Georgia taxpayer is eligible to redirect a portion of his/her tax dollars to St. George’s Episcopal School. SGES receives these funds that are used for financial aid for qualifying students, and the taxpayer receives a dollar for dollar credit on his/her/their Georgia state income tax. If you would like more information regarding this tax credit, please contact Larry Collins at 770-358-9432 or lcollins@sges.org.
