Giving
Tuition at St. George's Episcopal School covers approximately 75% of the actual cost to operate the school. The SGES Board of Trustees and Headmaster continuously strive to keep tuition at a competitive rate while maintaining excellence in education. Therefore, parents, grandparents, and friends of St. George's are given the opportunity to support the school through tax-deductible contributions. The annual fund is the single most important way to maintain what is best about SGES. This yearly appeal helps to bridge the gap between operating expenses and tuition. Gifts range from $5 to $10,000, can be given outright or pledged to be paid during the current fiscal year.

Endowments assure the needs of future generations will be met through financial aid and scholarships, development of new educational programs, improvements in faculty benefits and hiring of master teachers and chairs of academic departments. Gifts of any amount which may be given outright or pledged over time are accepted.
Gifts-In-Kind are non-cash donations that support and serve the mission of St. George's Episcopal School, and are tax-deductible according to IRS regulations.

Step One: If the stock is in a brokerage or trust account, instruct your stockbroker by telephone and follow-up with a letter to have the gifted stock transferred to St. George's account at the following brokerage firm:
Step Two: Please contact us at 770-358-9432 (fax 770-358-9495) or development@sges.org to advise the St. George's Development Staff of your stock gift.
1. Follow up with a letter containing the following information and mail to: SGES Development Office.
Name of the stock and number of shares
Your name, address and phone number
The purpose of the gift: Annual Fund, Capital, Endowment, etc.
The date of the gift
2. If the gift is in the form of a stock certificate registered in your name.
Send the stock certificate(s) plus a signed Stock Power under separate cover to the above listed brokerage firm. Also include a letter stating that you are gifting the stock to SGES.
Mailing the stock power and certificate under separate cover ensures that the stock can only be transferred if the finder has both documents.

Many companies will match your charitable contributions to St. George's Episcopal School. Please check with your employer to see if you qualify for this opportunity to further support the mission of St. George's. If you employer has a matching gift program, please complete the form provided by your employer and return to SGES along with your gift or pledge. The form cannot be filed until the pledge is fulfilled.
Memorial gifts honor the memory of those special to the St. George's Episcopal School community and helps to grow the SGES endowment unless otherwise specified at the time of the gift. Simply designate "In memory of" or "In honor of" and the name of the recipient on the "for" line of you check.
Planned giving is a method for the gifting of assets that helps the school, while providing the donor and family with significant tax benefits. A planned Gift can also be the gifting of a life insurance policy with SGES named as the beneficiary or a bequest made through the donor's will.
There are numerous options for Planned Giving at St. George's:

The St. George's Development Office will work with you to identify or create a planned giving choice which will provide a lasting legacy for the next generation of SGES students.
The St. George's Scholarship fund was established to provide the opportunity of an SGES education to qualified students with financial need. Gifts of any amount are accepted and may be given outright or pledged over time. An endowed scholarship may be set up in memory of or in honor of a person special to the St. George's community.
