After School Care is available Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $8.00 per day. The students are provided with a snack, given an opportunity to complete homework and after completing homework, given an opportunity to play outside, weather permitting.
Each semester there are After School Extension offerings in which students may participate. Past offerings have included karate, dance, soccer (through the Lamar County rec league), guitar, violin. These classes require an additional fee.
Current After-School Extension Offerings
Karate with US Martial Arts Center is available for students entering PK3 through 5th grades. Fees: $75 per month K-5; $50 per month K3 and K4. New enrollees will need to purchase a uniform for $25.
This class is led by Master Instructors Michelle and Brandon Worth. All staff are fully trained and certified karate instructors, versed in teaching students disciple, focus, and karate technique. Students attend two sessions per week. As students progress and attain new belt levels, parents will need to purchase new belts and belt certifications at minimal cost. This information will be disseminated by the instructor well in advance of testing.
Yoga will be offered weekly for students in kindergarten - 6th grade. Classes are held from 3:15-4:15pm in the chapel. The cost for the six session class is $42.00 per child. Students will need to wear comfortable clothes (gym clothes are fine) and will need a yoga mat. Class is taught by Meredith Yantis, yoga instructor at Anytime Fitness in Barnesville.
