Lower & Middle School Coordinator/ Middle School Social Studies
Mrs. McDaniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from North Georgia College & State University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Piedmont College. She has 21 years of teaching experience at St. George's.
Middle School Language Arts / High School English
Ms. Pearson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercer University. She has 13 years of teaching experience, 9 of which at St. George's.
Middle and High School Science
Ms. Muise holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Drew University and a Master of Science in Environmental Education from Antioch New England Graduate School. She also has a Middle School Science certification from Antioch New England Graduate School. She has over 22 years of teaching experience, and 12 of those years at St. George's.
Middle School Language Arts
Mrs. Norris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Master of Arts in Special Education with an emphasis in Learning and Intellectual Disabilities from Appalachian State University. She is also trained in Orton-Gillingham at the Certified level. She has 14 years of teaching experience with this being her second year in middle school and her first year at St. George’s.
High School LEADS Advisor/ Middle School Algebra
Mrs. Stikes holds a Master's degree in Math from Georgia State University. She previously taught Algebra I and II at Griffin High School as well as a serving as a math tutor here at St. George's. This is her 3rd year at St. George's.
Lower and Middle School Spanish
Mr. LaRue holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology from the University of Virginia. This is his fourth year at St. George’s.
High School Spanish
Dr. Olivier received his bachelor's degree in Spanish Education from Dillard College, a master's degree from the University of Illinois in Spanish Literature, and a doctorate in World Language from Purdue University. He has previously been the Assistant Professor of Spanish and French at Dillard University for 13 years, a part-time instructor of World Literature and French at Southern University in New Orleans for 2 years, and Spanish and French Teacher at Lamar County Comprehensive High School for 21 years. In addition, he was a Spanish Teacher at Griffin's Evening High School for 7 years, and part-time Spanish Teacher at Mary Person's High School, Clayton State University and Gordon State College. This is his third year at St. George's.
High School Chemistry
Mr. Smetana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from St. Vincent College, a Master of Business Administration Degree from Georgia State University, and a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburg. He has taught various science courses, including Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and Forensic Science at Gordon State College and Southern Crescent College. He is retired from the Department of Defense Crime Lab, where he was in charge of the DNA Department.
High School World History and Advanced Placement U.S. Government & Politics
Dr. Drake holds a B.A. degree from the University of Virginia, M.A. degree from George Peabody College for Teachers, and a Ed.D. from Tennessee State University. He has over 48 years in independent education 40 of those years as a teacher or administrator, and 8 years as the Executive Director of the Georgia Independent School Association. This is his second year at St. George's.
Director of the College Counseling Office
Dr. Edwards holds a B.A. degree from Emory University, and a M.A and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida. She completed her residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She specialized in working primarily with children and families. Dr. Edwards has been involved with St. George’s for over 15 years and is a past parent. She now serves as the Director of the College Counseling Office.
Blake Monts de Oca
Academic Dean / High School English and Spanish
Dr. Monts de Oca earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with specialization in Banking & Finance from the University of Georgia, a Master of Education degree in World Language Education with a specialization in Spanish from UGA, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with specialization in Teacher Education from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Monts de Oca has 12 years of teaching experience and this is his 2nd year at SGES.
Middle and High School Math (Algebra, AP Calculus, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Statistics)
Mrs. Hill received a bachelor's degree in textiles from Georgia Tech, a master's in economics from Mercer University, and hold a teaching certificate from the State of Georgia. Mrs. Hill has over ten years of teaching experience. This is her 2nd year at St. George's Episcopal School.
Advanced Placement English Composition and Language
Ms. Hendricks has a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in English education from Columbus State College. She has over 28 years of teaching experience. This is her 2nd year at St. George's Episcopal School.
High School Geography and Psychology
Mr. Cook holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Mercer University and Masters and Specialist degrees from Georgia State University in Social Studies Education. He holds Georgia teaching certificates in Economics, Geography, History, Political Science and Psychology. He taught in Fulton County Schools for 31 years and as an adjunct professor at GA State for 15 years. He directed a USDOE Teaching American History Grant for Fulton and has conducted numerous workshops for teachers across the state. This is Mr. Cook's 2nd year at SGES.
High School Science/ Biology and Environmental Sciences
Mrs. Payton received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from The University of Georgia and holds a teaching certificate from the state of Georgia. Mrs. Payton has over seven years of teaching experience. This is her first year at St. George’s Episcopal School.
