High School Curriculum at St. George’s Episcopal School

At St. George’s Episcopal School, our high school curriculum is designed to inspire students to Learn with Passion, Serve with Respect, Live with Purpose, and Lead with Integrity. Grounded in our mission, we offer a rigorous academic program complemented by diverse extracurricular opportunities, fostering well-rounded individuals prepared for the challenges of college and beyond.

Academic Structure

High school students typically enroll in six courses each semester, with a strong emphasis on college preparatory work. We offer a range of Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Enrollment courses, providing students with opportunities to challenge themselves while earning college credit. Signature Programs

  • LEADS Program: An integral part of the curriculum that focuses on activities that correlate with the four pillars of our mission LEARN, SERVE, LIVE, LEAD. The LEADS Program dedicates one afternoon each week to developing leadership, service, and life skills through guest speakers, interactive workshops, and hands-on activities.
  • Service Learning: Service is a core value at St. George’s. Each Junior designs and completes an independent service project, and the Class of 2024 has already contributed over 1,600 hours of community service. The Senior class holds a Trunk or Treat for the whole school, Sophomores help with the Stepping Stones Olympics and Freshman facilitate a service project for a local organization.
  • Experiential Learning: We believe in learning beyond the classroom. Each grade participates in domestic and international trips, such as:
    • Freshman travel to the Pacific Northwest for outdoor adventures and cultural studies.
    • Sophomores explore US History in Boston.
    • Juniors focus on environmental science during a trip to the Southwest.
    • Seniors complete their experience with a week in Spain for language and cultural immersion.
  • Senior Externship: Seniors also have the opportunity to engage in a month-long externship, gaining professional experience in fields of their interest.
